So Simple gift-tag ornaments....

Here are some super simple tag ornaments I made for my Christmas tree. So easy...they would be a fun project to do with your kids!
You can personalize them any way you like...

Here's how.....

Here's what you will need:
letter decals
tags (precut or homemade)
glitter
glue
ribbon
scissors

Start with your tag...

Use a gluestick to glue around the edges of the tag...

Add glitter...

Shake excess glitter of on a plate or paper...

Let dry...

Start adding your letter decals...

Add some ribbon...and voila! ...you have a lovely tag ornament for your tree!

(If you like you could repeat the steps on the reverse side as well.)

Can you find the tags on my tree?  :)

A little slice of the Big Apple.....at Christmas!!

This past week I was fortunate to have the opportunity to spend a few wonderful days in New York City.....wow!! Even though it's not quite Thanksgiving yet down there, you can definitely feel the excitement of the upcoming holiday season in the air all around! So many beautiful decorations and displays up already....I can only imagine what it must be like when December arrives and the festivities kick into full gear!

Here's just  a sample of what I saw....

I hope you have enjoyed my little tour and that it provides some inspiration for your own holiday decorating....  Have fun!!    :)

It's just about that time of year again....

November 4 already. Can you believe it?!

Yesterday, I woke up to the prettiest dusting of snow on our neighbourhood. It was Christmas card perfect!  Too bad in the morning rush of getting the kids off to school, I never had time to capture a picture before it all melted away ...

In around 25 days or so I will be in the thick of my holiday decorating....I can't wait! As a matter of fact, it was a bit of a winter wonderland here way back in September! HGTV.com had contacted me to submit some pics for their upcoming holiday features....I was super excited to do it!

In an effort to get back in the holiday spirit (and perhaps provide some inspiration to you) , I compiled some images from that photo shoot , along with some from previous years, into a little slideshow. I hope you enjoy it ....Happy Holiday Decorating to all!!

Simply Fall....How to: table centrepiece....

I've been busy as a beaver with all my Fall preparations! Even though I'm sad to see summer go, I find that adding some warm autumnal touches around my home really help brighten my spirits! My latest creation has been this centrepiece. I used mostly things I had around the house....all I needed to purchase were 2 branches of 'faux' Fall flowers, a roll of  ribbon and a  bag of popcorn :keep reading to see how I used it ;)

The pictures are pretty self explanatory...just scroll on down to see the step by step...

What you will need.... (plus double sided tape :) )

Here's how I used the popcorn.....as filler!!

....by using the popcorn as a filler, I didn't even need to cut the stems, just bend them...

Trim off a couple of flowers and use them to fill in empty spaces...

Bend the ribbon around fingers for a soft curvy effect...

I had these square candle holders sitting around so I put them to work too!

The grand finale!! This project took only about 15 min, was inexpensive (around $15) and adds some wonderful color to my table....so welcoming!!
